The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
wa Za Banga avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Mauricio Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
wa Za Banga lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Silva crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from wa Za Banga - the referee stops the clock and Silva gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says wa Za Banga. Silva manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Silva is breathing heavily.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Silva.
Nkuku Ngbendu wa Za Banga is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Silva takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Silva shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says wa Za Banga as he avoids it easily.

Silva shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has wa Za Banga pinned against the cage. wa Za Banga gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
wa Za Banga connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
wa Za Banga is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
wa Za Banga bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Silva tries to clinch up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Silva shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with wa Za Banga but wa Za Banga pushes him off and we're back to square one.
wa Za Banga throws a quick inside leg kick.
wa Za Banga fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Silva to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Silva looks to clinch but wa Za Banga throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Silva taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
