Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Peter McBain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Riley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McBain comes to the cage accompanied by Alien8. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Peter McBain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 25 - 0, fighting out of London, Billy Riley!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McBain defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Riley.
McBain slaps away a takedown attempt from Riley, before circling back to the center of the mat.
McBain tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Riley was well out of range. Poor timing from McBain.
McBain really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Riley shoots in for a double leg but McBain sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Peter McBain has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Billy Riley.
McBain connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Riley shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as McBain sprawls well. McBain wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Riley gets slowly back to his feet.
Some bone on bone action there as McBain checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
McBain throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Riley.
Riley closes the distance and clinches up with McBain, looking for a takedown. Riley pushes McBain against the cage but McBain circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Riley looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Riley tries to close the distance and clinch but McBain swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Riley closes the distance and clinches up with McBain, looking for a takedown. Riley pushes McBain against the cage but McBain circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

McBain lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Billy Riley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McBain stuffs the takedown.
Riley shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McBain as he jumps to the side.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

McBain is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

McBain thuds his right hand into Riley's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

and McBain counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

McBain leaves Riley with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Riley fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
McBain scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
McBain connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Riley momentarily.
Riley tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but McBain paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Riley takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

McBain lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

McBain defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Riley.
Peter McBain is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
McBain lands with a nice combination. Riley backs away looking to recover.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Riley misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
McBain lands with a shot to the body.
McBain connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Riley shoots in looking for a takedown but McBain manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Riley's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
McBain lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Riley backs up against the cage.
Riley shoots in looking for a takedown. McBain tries to sprawl out of it but Riley keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McBain manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and McBain counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Riley on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Riley takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Peter McBain dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Riley tries to score a power double leg takedown but McBain sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Riley somewhat.
Riley has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
The fight stays on the outside here - Riley looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Riley takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Riley tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Riley takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Riley is trying desperately to land a takedown but McBain is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Riley.
Horrible takedown by Riley or perhaps it was just good defense by McBain which made him look bad.
McBain goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Riley shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says McBain as he avoids it easily.

McBain's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and McBain duly obliges.

Riley bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

McBain throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Riley changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McBain tries to avoid it but Riley manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McBain to the ground. McBain escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Peter McBain is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A left and a right from McBain both land. Nice combination.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Riley looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? McBain is fending him off so far but Riley persists. Nope, McBain circles away and we're back to standing.

McBain fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Riley looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McBain feints a jab promting Riley to slip. McBain then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Riley slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Peter McBain showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for McBain, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
