Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Micki Angelo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julian Demaestri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Julian Demaestri looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Demaestri tries for a takedown but Angelo circles away easily
and Angelo counters with a nice leg kick.

Angelo shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Angelo was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Angelo is working Demaestri over with some ground and pound from side control.

Angelo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Demaestri swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Angelo stands and steps away. Demaestri gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Angelo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Demaestri was covering up waiting for the punch and Angelo finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Angelo decides to stand back up. Angelo steps back and let's Demaestri get back to his feet.

Angelo fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Demaestri sprawls well initially but Angelo persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Demaestri is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Angelo pulls his head out easily.

Demaestri is letting Angelo control him for a moment.
Demaestri takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Demaestri seems a little lost for a moment, as Angelo dominates the positioning.

Angelo is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Demaestri is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Angelo shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Demaestri's guard.

Angelo slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Angelo decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

and Angelo counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Angelo throws a quick inside leg kick.
Angelo tests Demaestri's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Angelo scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Angelo is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Demaestri can do to turn this around?

Angelo shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Angelo showed some decent athleticism there.

Angelo seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Demaestri for as long as he can get away with.

Angelo feints and as Demaestri raises his hands in defense, Angelo changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Demaestri has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Angelo is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Demaestri.

Angelo is trying to get an arm triangle but Demaestri is defending well.
Angelo is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Angelo is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Demaestri will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Angelo lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Angelo takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Angelo is landing with some decent strikes but Demaestri is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
