Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Viny Fay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mort Shula!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Chad Campbell and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fay shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Fay with a lazy takedown attempt
and Shula counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Fay misses with a takedown
and Shula counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Fay thinking.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Viny Fay. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fay shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Shula is not content to let Fay control the position.
Fay is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Fay is trying to control the action in half guard but Shula is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shula manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Fay changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Shula tries to avoid it but Fay manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Shula to the ground. Shula escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mort Shula is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Horrible takedown by Fay or perhaps it was just good defense by Shula which made him look bad.

Fay is breathing heavily.
Fay changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Shula tries to avoid it but Fay manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Shula to the ground. Shula escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Shula counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

and Shula counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fay closes the distance and clinches up with Shula, looking for a takedown. Fay pushes Shula against the cage but Shula circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

and Shula counters with a big right hand! Oh Fay is in trouble here! Shula follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
