Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Neal Briges Iii (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Neal Briges Iii!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mario Garcia!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Vladimir Khabensky and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garcia has a takedown stuffed.
Garcia circles away from the clinch attempt.
Garcia shoots for a double leg takedown but Briges Iii sprawls well. He's pushed Garcia's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Garcia is trying hard to land a takedown here. Briges Iii sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Neal Briges Iii has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mario Garcia.
Briges Iii tries to clinch up but Garcia circles away and keeps his distance.

Briges Iii got a little sloppy there for a moment and Garcia has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Briges Iii has managed to get both his arms back between Garcia's legs - danger averted.
Briges Iii will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Briges Iii wants to pass the guard but Garcia is keeping the position.

Garcia lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Briges Iii!

Garcia sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Garcia shoots in but no luck this time.
Garcia's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Briges Iii connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Garcia scrambles back to his feet.
Briges Iii tries for a takedown but Garcia sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Garcia is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Briges Iii gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Briges Iii is trying to drag Garcia to the mat but Garcia just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Garcia ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Garcia no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Garcia holds on and takes a little breather.

Garcia looking for a guillotine here but Briges Iii defends easily.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Garcia. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Garcia manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Briges Iii manages to get himself to full guard.

Garcia not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Briges Iii utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Garcia works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Briges Iii is looking to improve his position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Garcia looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Garcia seems to be working for a kimura but Briges Iii defends the submission attempt.

Well, if Garcia is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Briges Iii is looking to get back to is feet but Garcia passes into side control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Garcia lands a nice forearm strike.

Garcia stands up and we're back to a striking position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mario Garcia showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Garcia moves into the clinch successfully.
Garcia lands a nice shot to the body.
Briges Iii fails to pull guard.

Garcia jumps guard and drags Briges Iii to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Garcia working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Briges Iii doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Briges Iii manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Garcia bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Briges Iii's guard.

Garcia is pushing down on Briges Iii's leg trying to pass to half guard. Briges Iii is fighting to maintain full guard but Garcia has managed to sneak the leg through.
Garcia thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Briges Iii's head.
Garcia content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Garcia moves nicely into side control.

Garcia stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Garcia tries a head kick but it misses.
Garcia dives in and grabs Briges Iii's left leg, looking for a takedown. Briges Iii pushes down on Garcia's head and hops out.

and Garcia moves into the clinch.
Garcia wants to get back to striking at distance but Briges Iii won't allow it.
Briges Iii wants to break the clinch but can't.
Briges Iii is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Briges Iii is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Garcia to keep the fight standing.

Garcia has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Briges Iii uses from the top position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Garcia escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Briges Iii gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Garcia bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Briges Iii's guard.

Garcia gets to his feet. Briges Iii looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Garcia!
Garcia shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Briges Iii as he jumps to the side.
Neal Briges Iii has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mario Garcia.
Garcia changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Briges Iii tries to avoid it but Garcia manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Briges Iii to the ground. Briges Iii escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Briges Iii is looking to chop away at Garcia's legs.
Garcia fails with a takedown attempt.
Garcia slips a jab and a cross from Briges Iii.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Briges Iii stuffs the takedown attempt from Garcia. Garcia gets slowly back to his feet.

Briges Iii feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mario Garcia comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Garcia has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
