PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mikko Miettinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matti Vanhanen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vanhanen tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Miettinen jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Vanhanen walks away with a smile on his face. Miettinen gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

The referee is keeping an eye on Vanhanen - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Vanhanen is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Miettinen can't fight it off and eventually Vanhanen manages to take the fight to the floor. Miettinen looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Vanhanen has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Vanhanen content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Miettinen has locked up a guillotine! Miettinen's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Vanhanen is holding on here and Miettinen must be using up a lot of energy. Vanhanen has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Miettinen gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
