Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ali throws a half hearted mid kick.
Ali decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Ali is thwarting Velasquez's attempts to control the position.

Ali is looking to take a break and control but Velasquez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Yannick Ali wasn't active enough on the ground.
Ali shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Ali really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Velasquez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Ali is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Velasquez's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Velasquez's back!

Ali is persistently looking for the submission but Velasquez is defending it well.
Ali is looking for a choke. Velasquez gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Velasquez manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.

Ali will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Ali feints a jab promting Velasquez to slip. Ali then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Velasquez slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
It looks like Whitepride Velasquez has been cut.
Ali feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Velasquez is trying to control the position but Ali postures up.

Velasquez looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Velasquez has a closed guard, preventing Ali from standing up.
Velasquez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Velasquez has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Ali is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Velasquez.

Velasquez has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Velasquez tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Velasquez seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Ali for as long as he can get away with.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Velasquez is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ali pulls his head out easily.
Ali tries to stand but can't do so whilst Velasquez controls his leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ali wants to stand but Velasquez has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Velasquez is pressing down on Ali's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Ali. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Velasquez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ali is working away from the top position though.
Ali wants to work for an arm triangle but Velasquez is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Ali is keen to just control but Velasquez is a slippery customer.

Well Ali has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
