PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Pott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Klaus Andersen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pott comes to the cage accompanied by Meat Loaf - Bat out of Hell. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Pott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Klaus Andersen!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Phil Schofield and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pott bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Andersen's head backwards.
Pott throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Andersen gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Pott counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Andersen tries to clinch there but Pott circles away.
Andersen closes the distance but Pott moves to the side
and Andersen takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Andersen moves out of range as Pott strikes.
Pott throws a lazy head kick

and Andersen counters by clinching up.
Andersen wants to take the fight to the mat but Pott manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Pott misses with a punch on the inside.

Pott tests Andersen's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Jack Pott is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Andersen drives through with a takedown into Pott's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Pott has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Andersen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

We're going to have a standup here because Jack Pott wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Andersen tries to clinch but Pott is having none of it.
Pott avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Pott misses the shot to the body.
Andersen avoids the head kick by Pott.
The fight stays on the outside here - Andersen looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Pott swats away the attempt to clinch by Andersen.

Andersen closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Pott is looking to regain half guard here but Andersen keeps moving and retains side control.

Pott tries to bench press Andersen off him but Andersen keeps the position.

Andersen is trying to get an arm triangle but Pott is defending well.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Pott gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Andersen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Andersen wants to free his trapped foot but Pott is holding on for dear life with his legs.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pott ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Pott digs a good body shot into Andersen's ribs.

Andersen misses with a looping left.
Pott clobbers Andersen with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Andersen fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Pott avoids it really well and circles away.
Jack Pott has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Klaus Andersen.
Andersen closes the distance but Pott moves to the side
and Pott counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Andersen is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Pott dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Pott tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Pott.
Pott managing to block the knees to the body from Andersen.
Pott keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Andersen's efforts to push away.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Pott stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pott wants it to stay on the feet.

Andersen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pott swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Andersen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pott.
Andersen tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Pott swivels and escapes.
Jack Pott has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Klaus Andersen.

and Pott counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Pott connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Andersen momentarily.
Andersen moves to clinch but Pott breaks away
and Pott counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Andersen moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Pott stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pott wants it to stay on the feet.
Andersen ducks under a wild hook from Pott.
Pott swings for the body but Andersen moves out of range.
Andersen tries to close the distance and clinch but Pott swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pott misses the jab.
Andersen fails in his attempt to clinch.
Andersen shoots in for a takedown but Pott shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Andersen shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Pott defends it nicely.

Andersen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Pott throws a low kick but Andersen avoids it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jack Pott showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Pott has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
