Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ryu Jin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike McGuire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McGuire has chosen Johnny Cash sings The Battle Hymn Of The Republic as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Columbo Gatti and Anthony Taglia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGuire throws an overhand right that lands on Jin's shoulder, as Jin tries to avoid the shot.
Jin takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Jin throws a lazy head kick
and McGuire counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Jin throws a head kick but McGuire moves out of range.
McGuire avoids a kick to the body.
Jin goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Jin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jin looks to land a right hand but McGuire moved out of range.
McGuire avoids the body shot from Jin.
Mike McGuire seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

McGuire fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Jin has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

McGuire comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
McGuire fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Jin looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Jin feints and then cracks McGuire's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow McGuire down.
No joy there for McGuire, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

McGuire swings for the body but Jin moves out of range.
McGuire doesn't manage to clinch there - Jin circles away.
McGuire lands with a hook. Jin tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
McGuire uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Jin.
Jin is looking to score with low kicks.
Jin avoids the head kick by McGuire.
McGuire throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
McGuire fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Jin jabs McGuire to the body, keeping him at a distance.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Jin shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Jin misses with a low kick as McGuire jumps back.
McGuire is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Jin had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

McGuire cracks Jin with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
McGuire on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

McGuire lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jin circles away quickly and effectively.

McGuire is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Mike McGuire seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Jin walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. McGuire checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
McGuire stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Jin pivots, looking for a leg kick but McGuire is out of range and Jin settles back down.
Jin sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

McGuire jabs Jin to the body, keeping him at a distance.
McGuire connects with a nice looking jab.

McGuire tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jin just stands there and leans against the cage.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Jin seems a little flustered. He's come in with the intention of controlling the clinch but McGuire is preventing him from doing so, at least for the moment.

McGuire wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Jin has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by McGuire.

McGuire tests Jin's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Jin misses with a hook. McGuire ducked under it nicely.
McGuire cracks Jin with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Jin is rocked!
McGuire lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Jin can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from McGuire and Jin drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by McGuire.
