Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gleison Nibar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, The Steel Penn Alliance!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Joseph Jones and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nibar jabs at Penn Alliance's body.
Nibar swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Penn Alliance blocks a leg kick.

Penn Alliance looking to score a takedown here. Nibar is defending well but Penn Alliance drives through and ends up in Nibar's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Penn Alliance trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Penn Alliance really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nibar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Penn Alliance postures up.
Penn Alliance stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nibar swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Penn Alliance trying to move into half guard but instead Nibar has managed to sweep!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Nibar accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Penn Alliance looking for a guillotine here but Nibar defends easily.
Penn Alliance keeping moving, preventing Nibar from controlling successfully.
Nibar is really struggling to control Penn Alliance but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Nibar thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Nibar pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Penn Alliance is keeping the position for now.

Nibar is pushing down on Penn Alliance's leg trying to pass to half guard. Penn Alliance is fighting to maintain full guard but Nibar has managed to sneak the leg through.

Penn Alliance is not content to let Nibar control the position.

Penn Alliance looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Nibar wants to control but Penn Alliance is keeping him busy.
Penn Alliance wants to improve his position but Nibar is controlling well.
Penn Alliance moves into full guard.

Nibar is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Penn Alliance lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Nibar!

Penn Alliance goes for an armbar but Nibar turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Nibar.
Nibar wants to control from the top but Penn Alliance keeps moving.

Nibar won't allow Penn Alliance to sweep him here.

Penn Alliance looking for a guillotine here but Nibar defends easily.
Nibar trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Penn Alliance can do anything to dispel that myth.

Nibar got a little sloppy there for a moment and Penn Alliance has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nibar has managed to get both his arms back between Penn Alliance's legs - danger averted.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Penn Alliance is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Nibar stands and throws Penn Alliance's legs to the side, diving into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but The Steel Penn Alliance will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Penn Alliance closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Nibar did well to prevent Penn Alliance getting side control.
The Steel Penn Alliance has got the better of the ground game so far.
Nibar has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Penn Alliance is working away from the top position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Penn Alliance looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Penn Alliance is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Penn Alliance wants to work for an arm triangle but Nibar is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Penn Alliance looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nibar avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Penn Alliance.

Penn Alliance is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Nibar is just riding it out for now. Penn Alliance eventually gives up the hold.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Penn Alliance is working for a kimura but Nibar is defending it quite comfortably.
Penn Alliance frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Penn Alliance moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Nibar has worked his arm free - good work by Nibar!

Penn Alliance thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Penn Alliance taking a break here but Nibar is having none of it and regains half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nibar gets full guard.

Penn Alliance has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Nibar to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Penn Alliance is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Nibar pulls down on the head and he's put Penn Alliance to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Gleison Nibar!
