PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Forrest Raine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Motarora Ramrung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Raine comes into the arena with Your going down-Sick puppies blaring out of the sound system. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, John Mangel and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ramrung gets caught napping as Raine dives in and scores a takedown. Ramrung manages to retain guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Raine being controlled here momentarily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Motarora Ramrung has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Raine stuffs the takedown attempt from Ramrung. Ramrung gets slowly back to his feet.
Ramrung blocks a head kick by Raine.
Raine misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Raine looking to score a takedown here. Ramrung is defending well but Raine drives through and ends up in Ramrung's guard.

Ramrung jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Raine walks away with a smile on his face. Ramrung gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Raine tries a head kick but it misses.
No joy there for Raine, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Raine has taken the fight to the clinch.
Ramrung jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Raine walks away with a smile on his face. Ramrung gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Raine misses with a kick to the body.
Ramrung avoids the head kick by Raine.
Raine is breathing heavily.

Raine throws a head kick but Ramrung moves out of range.

Raine closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Ramrung quickly recovers to half guard.
Ramrung slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Ramrung pulls Raine in close to his closed guard and prevents Raine from doing any damage or advancing position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Let's hope that Ramrung has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

That was a close round but I would say that Forrest Raine will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Raine throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Forrest Raine is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Raine shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Raine tries to stand but can't do so whilst Ramrung controls his leg.
Motarora Ramrung has got the better of the ground game so far.

Raine seems to be looking for submissions.

Ramrung is pulling down on Raine's head. It's preventing any offense from Raine, at least for the moment.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Raine is fighting to break Ramrung's control of his arms but Ramrung is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Raine wants to get up but he can't break Ramrung's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Ramrung is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Ramrung misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Raine manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Ramrung on his heels. He'll look to pass Ramrung's guard now, I'm sure.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

I would just about give that final round to Motarora Ramrung.
I think Ramrung has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
