Lopez comes into the arena with Party up in here - DMX blaring out of the sound system. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rutten misses with a low kick.

Rutten closes the distance and clinches.
Lopez tries to pull guard but Rutten won't allow it.
Rutten wants to get back to striking at distance but Lopez won't allow it.

Rutten has Lopez pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Rutten pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Lopez tumbling to the mat - Rutten dives into Lopez's guard.

Rutten stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lopez swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Rutten shoots in for a takedown but Lopez shows good takedown defense.

Rutten stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Lopez has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Rutten manages to get his head free but now Lopez has transitioned to an armbar! Rutten grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Lopez! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
