PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Christopher Binse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gomer Jacobs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jacobs comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Binse tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jacobs was well out of range. Poor timing from Binse.

Jacobs changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Binse looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jacobs is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Binse knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Jacobs swings around for an armbar but Binse sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Jacobs's guard.

Binse's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Jacobs looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Binse has picked Jacobs up and slammed him! Jacobs can't keep hold of the triangle and Binse manages to pass to side control!
Binse knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jacobs on the ground.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Binse seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

That was a close round but I would say that Christopher Binse will probably get the nod.

Binse fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Jacobs has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Binse cracks Jacobs with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Jacobs looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Binse finish him?
Binse steps in with a hook that catches Jacobs right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Binse follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Jacobs looks absolutely devastated.
