Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bubba James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rainer Pakarinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James comes to the cage accompanied by Biscuits & Gravy. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bubba James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rainer Pakarinen!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James moves out of range of the strikes.
James takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Pakarinen slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Pakarinen thuds his right hand into James's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.


It looks like Bubba James has been cut.

James shoots in and bounces Pakarinen off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Pakarinen jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but James manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Pakarinen wants to lay and pray for a moment but James keeps working.

James sneaks out the side door and pushes Pakarinen away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Pakarinen stalks James and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into James's face. James staggers backwards, shaken.
Pakarinen works the jab nicely.
James misses with a takedown attempt - Pakarinen sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
James uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Pakarinen.
Pakarinen has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

James shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Pakarinen defends it nicely.

James has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Pakarinen on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
James thows a huge punch but Pakarinen dodges it nicely.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. James connects with a nice short shot to Pakarinen's temple.

James shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pakarinen as he jumps to the side.
Pakarinen connects with a good right hand that stumbles James. James circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Pakarinen throws a shot from downtown. James moves away and avoids it.
James tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pakarinen sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten James somewhat.
James looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bubba James. That's going to take a lot out of him.
James shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
James ducks under a wild hook from Pakarinen.
James uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Pakarinen.
Pakarinen swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Pakarinen scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
James drops his hands momentarily and Pakarinen takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Pakarinen lands a really nice looking cross but James seems unphased.
Bubba James is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
No luck for James with that takedown attempt.
