The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Long looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Torres forces Long back against the ropes and clinches.

Torres breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Torres closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Long to the mat! Long manages to get full guard.
Long tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Long has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Torres can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Long looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Long had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Torres is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Long Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Torres's back instead.

Torres is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Long gets his way!

Long shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Torres's guard.

Long is looking to advance position but Torres won't allow it.

Torres knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Long on the ground.

Long moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Torres has worked his arm free - good work by Torres!
