The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Saam Ante and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Melendez takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Melendez takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Malapitan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Malapitan lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Melendez looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Melendez with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Malapitan to score with a decent uppercut.
It looks like Ricardo Melendez has been cut.
This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Melendez might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.

Melendez shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Malapitan but Malapitan pushes him off and we're back to square one.
No joy there for Melendez, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Malapitan scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Khulet Malapitan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Malapitan connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Melendez! He's out on his feet! Malapitan rushes in and drops Melendez with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Khulet Malapitan!
After the fight, Khulet Malapitan was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
