The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Drummle makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Shirley really felt that one!

Shirley will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Drummle up against the cage.
Drummle is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Shirley is defending well for now.

Shirley lands a right hand that snaps the head of Drummle backwards.
Drummle is pressed up against the cage. Shirley has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Drummle down to the mat. Drummle avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Drummle throws a wild body kick that Shirley sees coming a mile off.

Shirley tries to keep at a distance but Drummle has taken the fight into the clinch.
Shirley is struggling to control the position.

Shirley is looking to take this one to the mat.
Drummle throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Shirley wants the takedown. Drummle is fighting it off but Shirley persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Drummle's guard against the cage.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Shirley makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Shirley passes Drummle's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Shirley works his way into full mount!
Drummle knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shirley on the ground.
Shirley is in the full mount, landing strikes.
BOOM! Shirley connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Drummle has left one of his arms exposed and Shirley doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Drummle screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
