Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Clay Barnett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frankie Edgar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnett thuds his shin into the meat of Edgar's side.
Barnett tries to clinch up but Edgar circles away and keeps his distance.
Edgar rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Barnett moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Barnett wants to control but Edgar is keeping him busy.

Barnett wants to free his trapped foot but Edgar is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Edgar has control of Barnett's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Barnett regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Barnett tries to lock up and control but Edgar gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Barnett is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Edgar is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Edgar has hold of Barnett's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Barnett manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Barnett decides to return to a standing position.

and Edgar makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Barnett bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Barnett changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Edgar looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Barnett tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Barnett has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
