Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Laid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Rickson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carl Rickson struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 266.4lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rickson turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Laid chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Rickson can pounce on him.
Laid takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Rickson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
A nice inside leg kick there by Rickson. That's going to slow Laid down.
Laid misses with a takedown attempt
and Rickson counters with a slapping leg kick.
Laid shoots in looking for a takedown but Rickson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Laid's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rickson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Laid. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Mike Laid tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
