Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Crocup (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pekka Perkele (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Perkele has chosen Impaled Nazarene - Hardboiled And Still Hellbound as his entrance music. Michael Crocup looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crocup misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Perkele walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Perkele misses with a takedown attempt - Crocup sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Perkele shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Michael Crocup has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pekka Perkele.
Crocup moves out of range of the body kick.
A punch lands to the side of Perkele 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Perkele shoots in looking for a takedown. Crocup tries to sprawl out of it but Perkele keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Crocup manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Perkele shoots in and drives through. Crocup sprawls well.

Perkele looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Crocup is fending him off so far but Perkele persists. Nope, Crocup circles away and we're back to standing.
Perkele tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Crocup swivels and escapes.

Perkele avoids a kick to the body.
Perkele changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Crocup tries to avoid it but Perkele manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Crocup to the ground. Crocup escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Crocup fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Crocup connects with a jab.
Crocup lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Perkele throws a low kick, looking for Crocup's leg but Crocup calmly moves out of range.
Crocup stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Crocup dips to his left and cracks Perkele with an uppercut!
Crocup lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Crocup throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Crocup could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Perkele misses with a takedown attempt - Crocup sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Crocup goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Crocup works Perkele's body with a nice hook.
Crocup tries a head kick but it misses.
Perkele gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Crocup lands a jab to the head.
Crocup lands with a nice combination. Perkele backs away looking to recover.

Perkele closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Perkele has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Crocup is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Perkele yanks on the arm and Crocup is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Perkele.
