Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gerard Spider (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryoto Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spider comes to the cage accompanied by Amazing . Machida is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Bleed It Out. Gerard Spider looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spider closes this distance looking for a takedown but Machida circles away.
Machida darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Spider throws a series of punches but Machida moves out of range.
Machida thows a left - swing and a miss!
Machida works Spider's body with a nice hook.
Spider closes the distance and clinches up with Machida, looking for a takedown. Spider pushes Machida against the cage but Machida circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Machida fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Spider looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Spider will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Spider is defended easily by Machida.

Spider shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Machida pinned against the cage. Machida gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Machida counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Spider with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Machida to score with a decent uppercut.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Spider counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Machida is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Machida has had enough of the clinch but Spider keeps him there for the moment.
