PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cosmo Alexandre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arjen Robben (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Robben has chosen Champions Anthem as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Cosmo Alexandre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Arjen Robben!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yuuki Gou and Shirou Masuda.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alexandre slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Robben fails with a takedown attempt.
Robben fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Horrible takedown by Robben or perhaps it was just good defense by Alexandre which made him look bad.
Cosmo Alexandre has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Arjen Robben.
Robben takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Robben shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Alexandre as he avoids it easily.
Robben on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Alexandre digs a good hook to Robben's body.
Alexandre really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Alexandre rushes Robben and presses him up against the ropes.

Alexandre turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Alexandre manages to end up in side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Alexandre wants to free his trapped foot but Robben is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Robben moves into full guard.
Alexandre knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Robben on the ground.

Robben looking for a triangle here. Alexandre is fighting it but it looks tight! Robben pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Alexandre is tapping out - this one is all over!

Arjen Robben gave a mention to Heroic Combat Gear (Laundry service) in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
