PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jean Pierre Babin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Calvin Duran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Babin might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to South Park - Let's Fighting Love. Duran has chosen Seven devils - Florence as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Glass and Andrew Berry.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duran throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Babin stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Babin connects with a jab.

It looks like Calvin Duran has been cut.
Babin takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Duran misses with a lunging right hand
and Babin counters with a nice low kick that buckles Duran's knee momentarily.
Duran rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Babin moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Duran scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Duran bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Calvin Duran seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Babin lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Duran has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Duran and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Babin shoots for a double leg takedown but Duran sprawls well. He's pushed Babin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Babin closes the distance looking for a takedown. Duran stuffs it but Babin still has hold of him. Babin picks Duran up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Babin slams Duran to the floor and that's really hurt Duran - he doesn't know where he is! Babin throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!
