I think Nolan might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Down - Stone the Crow. Matwijenko has chosen RANDORI! as his entrance music. Christian Nolan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Iwan Matwijenko!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nolan lands with a kick to the ribs.
Matwijenko does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Nolan misses with a body shot.
Matwijenko scores with a jab to the jaw.

It looks like Christian Nolan has been cut.

Nolan lands a nice leg kick that just misses Matwijenko's sensitive parts.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nolan shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Matwijenko eats them both and turns towards Nolan to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Matwijenko takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Christian Nolan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nolan scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Matwijenko throws a good cross that connects.
Matwijenko moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Matwijenko crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Nolan - the referee stops the clock and Matwijenko gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Nolan. Matwijenko manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Matwijenko throws a head kick but Nolan moves out of range.
Nolan lands a leg kick that knocks Matwijenko off balance momentarily.
Matwijenko tries to clinch but Nolan moves out of range.
Matwijenko tries to score with a low kick but Nolan moves his leg out of the way.
