PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Krystyn Kavanagh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Alonso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kavanagh comes into the arena with Julie Ruin- VGi blaring out of the sound system. Jose Alonso told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Krystyn Kavanagh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jose Alonso!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Nard Betker and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alonso misses with a takedown
and Kavanagh counters with an outside leg kick.
Kavanagh moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Kavanagh misses with an uppercut. Alonso saw that one coming.

Kavanagh lands a big head kick that sends Alonso tumbling to the mat! Kavanagh takes a step backwards and waves Alonso back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Alonso is rocked!


It looks like Jose Alonso has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Krystyn Kavanagh has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jose Alonso.

Kavanagh lands a knee to the body.
A bit of stalling here from Kavanagh.
Alonso is trying to pull guard but Kavanagh turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Kavanagh throws a sloppy head kick and Alonso moves out of range easily.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Krystyn Kavanagh dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jose Alonso's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Alonso looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Alonso is trying for a kimura here. Kavanagh looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Alonso wins by kimura!
