Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Neek Statam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shuten Demon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shuten Demon!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Demon closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Statam's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Statam looking to hit a scissor sweep but Demon is one step ahead there.
Statam could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Statam is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Demon is controlling him.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Demon slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Statam.

Demon decides to stand back up.

Statam wants to clinch up but Demon keeps it at a distance.

and Demon counters with a shoot takedown. Statam fights it but they end up in guard.

Demon gets to his feet. Statam looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Statam tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Demon throws a right and a left that both miss.
Statam shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Demon connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

It looks like Neek Statam has been cut.
Statam is breathing heavily.

Demon shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Statam is trying to defend but Demon finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Demon is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Demon wants to work for an arm triangle but Statam is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well, if Demon is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Let's hope that Demon has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Shuten Demon wasn't active enough on the ground.

Statam jumps guard but Demon stands there with Statam around his waist. Statam gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Statam knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Demon on the ground.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Shuten Demon was stalling too much, according to the referee.
