The crowd seem to be enjoying Szulc's choice of entrance music: Trio Latino - Viva La España . Piotr Szulc has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnemäki.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Benoit manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Szulc on his heels. He'll look to pass Szulc's guard now, I'm sure.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Szulc is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Benoit trying to control the position from guard on top but Szulc is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Benoit tries to free his leg and advance position but Szulc is retaining full guard.
Szulc looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Benoit is fighting to break Szulc's control of his arms but Szulc is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Benoit closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Benoit stands up from half guard.

Szulc shoots in and gets a takedown into Benoit's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Benoit controls Szulc momentarily but Szulc frees himself.
Benoit on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Benoit tries to get out of the position.
Szulc pushing down on Benoit's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Benoit is trying to maintain the position but Szulc is very close to passing his half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Szulc thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Benoit's head.
Szulc trying to pass the guard but Benoit defending well.
Szulc working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Szulc not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Benoit tries to roll over but Szulc keeps him under control.
Szulc uses his free foot to push down on Benoit's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Benoit.
Szulc can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Benoit is looking to escape.
Szulc pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Benoit is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Szulc throws some wild stikes that Benoit manages to avoid easily.
Szulc raining down hammerfists from mount.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Szulc with shots to the head and body - Benoit looks very uncomfortable down there.
Szulc misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Szulc cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Szulc lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Benoit is rocked!
Szulc drops a big elbow. That's hurt Benoit! More shots from Szulc and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
