Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Shane Norris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Myles Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Norris kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Nightmare. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shane Norris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Myles Brooks!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Hugh Johnson and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brooks clinches with his opponent.
Norris missing with knees to the body.
Brooks can't get the takedown.
Norris keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Brooks's efforts to push away.
Norris misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Brooks.

Norris is pressed up against the cage. Brooks has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Norris down to the mat. Norris avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Brooks displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Norris.
Brooks closes the distance and clinches up with Norris, looking for a takedown. Brooks pushes Norris against the cage but Norris circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Myles Brooks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Norris throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Brooks's waist but Brooks gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Norris off to one side.

and Norris counters with a single leg into guard. Brooks didn't expect that.

Brooks looking to hit a scissor sweep but Norris is one step ahead there.
Norris wants to stand but Brooks has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Shane Norris.
Norris shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Brooks pinned against the cage. Brooks gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Brooks misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

and Norris counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Norris will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Norris stands up and waves to Brooks to follow him.

Norris is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Brooks's half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

and Norris counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Norris stops Brooks from standing up.

Norris gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Norris changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brooks tries to avoid it but Norris manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brooks to the ground. Brooks escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Brooks shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Norris sprawls well. Norris wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Brooks gets slowly back to his feet.

Norris closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Brooks to the mat! Brooks manages to get full guard.

Brooks working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Norris has passed into half guard!

Brooks will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Brooks shoots for a takedown but Norris saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

The fight stays on the outside here - Brooks looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Brooks tries to score a power double leg takedown but Norris sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Brooks somewhat.

Shane Norris overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Norris is not content to let Brooks control the position.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Myles Brooks has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Brooks is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

I would just about give that final round to Myles Brooks.
I think Norris has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
