Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Yamada Taiki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Caden Prevost (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Yamada Taiki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Caden Prevost!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Prevost looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Taiki is fending him off so far but Prevost persists. Nope, Taiki circles away and we're back to standing.
A slapping body kick lands there for Taiki.
Prevost will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Taiki moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Prevost looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Yamada Taiki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Caden Prevost.
Taiki throws a head kick that half lands.
Prevost throws a right hand that Taiki ducks under and follows up with a left that Taiki also avoids with ease.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Taiki.
Yamada Taiki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Prevost takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Prevost throws a combination that misses
and Taiki counters with an outside leg kick.
Taiki fails in his attempt to clinch.
Prevost tries to close the distance and clinch up but Taiki swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Prevost pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Prevost crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Taiki - the referee stops the clock and Prevost gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Taiki. Prevost manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Taiki doesn't manage to clinch there - Prevost circles away.
Prevost throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Taiki counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Prevost closes the distance but Taiki moves to the side

and Taiki counters by clinching up.
Taiki wants to get back to striking at distance but Prevost won't allow it.
Prevost prevents Taiki from breaking the clinch.
Prevost is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Taiki gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Taiki is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Prevost lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Prevost changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Taiki fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Taiki pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Prevost wants to clinch up but Taiki keeps it at a distance.
Taiki throws a head kick but Prevost moves out of range.
Prevost fails to land the takedown.
Prevost takes a kick to the side of the head.
Taiki fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Prevost looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Taiki moves in looking to clinch but Prevost pushes him off.

Prevost feints and as Taiki raises his hands in defense, Prevost changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Taiki has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Prevost off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Prevost takes a kick to the side of the head.

Taiki moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Taiki avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Taiki - that will leave a mark!
Prevost throws a left and a right that both miss
and Taiki counters with a nice body kick.
Prevost blocks a head kick by Taiki.
Prevost throws a right and a left that Taiki avoids nicely.
Taiki throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Prevost.
Taiki misses with a head kick.
Prevost tries to bum rush Taiki with a series of wild strikes but Taiki uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Prevost tries to clinch but Taiki moves out of range.
Prevost wants to clinch.
Taiki lets loose with a powerful body kick. Prevost will feel that in the morning.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Prevost is looking to take a break and control but Taiki is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Prevost is looking to advance position but Taiki won't allow it.

Prevost tries to stand but can't do so whilst Taiki controls his leg.

Prevost is trying to control the action in half guard but Taiki is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Taiki is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Prevost jumps into side control!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Prevost has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Taiki fails with an attempt to clinch.
Prevost avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Taiki gets caught flat footed, as Prevost shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Taiki ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Prevost moves away.
Prevost takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Taiki.
Prevost shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

and Taiki counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Prevost takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Taiki throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Prevost on the side of the head.
Prevost chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Taiki can pounce on him.

Taiki fakes the leg kick and cracks Prevost in the body.
Prevost's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Prevost wants to clinch.
Taiki goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
A nice inside leg kick there by Taiki. That's going to slow Prevost down.
Taiki throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Taiki lands with a kick to the temple. Prevost shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Prevost has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Taiki.

and Prevost counters with a one-two to the body.
Taiki cracks Prevost with an open hand slap.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Taiki throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Taiki.
Taiki throws a leg kick but Prevost sees it coming and moves out of range.
Prevost takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Prevost scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Prevost prevents Taiki from escaping the position.
Taiki wants to get back to his feet but Prevost is dominant here and he's now got Taiki's back!

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Caden Prevost.
I think Prevost has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
