Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jim Jom!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, James Madness!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Micheangelo Fripello and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Madness fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jom manages to avoid it.
Jom moves out of range of the strikes.
Madness wants to clinch but Jom slips to the side
and Jom counters with a one-two to the body.

Jom gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Madness to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Madness tries to free his leg and advance position but Jom is retaining full guard.

Jom not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Jom really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Madness with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Madness goes for an armbar but Jom turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Jom.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Madness manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jom manages to get himself to full guard.

Jom preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Madness throws an elbow that misses. Jom uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Madness's guard. Nice move by Jom!
Jom will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Jom won't allow Madness to sweep him here.
Jom wants to control from the top but Madness keeps moving.

Madness working for a triangle but Jom defends it easily.

Madness has his foot on Jom's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jom works his way back into a safe position though.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Madness is on top in guard.

Jom can't keep his opponent in guard - Madness advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Madness drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Jom dives on top into guard.

Madness has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Jom should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Madness has tightened it up now! Jom should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
