Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nick Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tommy Sirenni!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Sergei Dronov and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz lands a really nice looking cross but Sirenni seems unphased.
Nick Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sirenni lands a nice hook to Diaz's body. Diaz takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Sirenni scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Sirenni working the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sirenni wants to control but Diaz is keeping him busy.
Diaz is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sirenni scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Sirenni trying to pass the guard but Diaz defending well.
Diaz is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Sirenni wants to pass the guard but Diaz is defending well.
Diaz wants to improve his position but Sirenni is controlling well.
Sirenni tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Diaz looking for submissions off his back.
Diaz gets full guard.

Diaz looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Sirenni lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Diaz bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sirenni's guard.
Diaz pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sirenni is keeping the position for now.

Diaz is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Diaz forces his way into half guard.
Diaz wants to pass the guard but Sirenni is defending well.
Diaz is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Diaz looking to control but Sirenni is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sirenni is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Diaz trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Sirenni wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Diaz.
Sirenni is controlling an arm, preventing Diaz from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Diaz can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sirenni is looking to escape.

Diaz is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Diaz extends the arm and Sirenni is forced to tap!
