Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Wanderlei Menezes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Simler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Wanderlei Menezes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dan Simler!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simler tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Menezes was well out of range. Poor timing from Simler.
Simler connects with a body shot that sends Menezes's belly button to the back.
Menezes shoots in for a takedown but Simler shows good takedown defense.
Menezes fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Menezes defending well as Simler loads up on a big left hand.

Simler shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Menezes napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Simler comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Simler catches Menezes with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Simler is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Menezes shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Simler's guard.
Menezes controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Menezes might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Menezes wants to control from the top but Simler keeps moving.
Menezes postures up in Simler's guard and throws a big left but Simler blocks it.
Simler has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

I think Simler has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
