PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Davy Crockett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ethan Clayton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clayton has chosen I Want It All as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Reed Andrews and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crockett looks to land a right hand but Clayton moved out of range.
Clayton with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Clayton throws a front kick aimed at Crockett's knee but Crockett avoids it well.

Crockett looks to throw the jab but Clayton is out of range.
Davy Crockett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A nice leg kick lands there from Clayton.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Crockett has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Clayton is working away from the top position though.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Crockett is looking for a sweep.
You can see the frustration on Crockett's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Clayton creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ethan Clayton dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Davy Crockett's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Crockett throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Clayton will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Clayton takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Crockett scores with a hook to the body. Clayton takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Crockett cracks Clayton with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.


It looks like Ethan Clayton has been cut.

Crockett drives through and clinches with Clayton against the cage.

Clayton trying to control the position but instead, Crockett has worked for underhooks and has pushed Clayton into the cage.
Clayton keeps control of Crockett as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Clayton with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Clayton is looking to control Crockett's arms but Crockett gets an underhook and turns him. Now Clayton has his back to the cage.

Clayton takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Crockett misses the shot to the body.
Clayton circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ethan Clayton seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Clayton jabs at Crockett's body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Crockett chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Clayton can pounce on him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Clayton throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Crockett stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Oh Crockett is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Clayton scores with a big shot! Crockett's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Crockett! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
