Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Speedy Atkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Macconi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Atkins comes to the cage accompanied by baddest of the bad - rev. horton heat. On his way into the cage it seems that Speedy Atkins has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Speedy Atkins seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Tatsuya Matsuyama.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Macconi stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Atkins.
A jab from Atkins does it's job there.
Macconi is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Atkins has managed to clinch.

Macconi got a little sloppy there for a moment and Atkins has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Macconi has managed to get both his arms back between Atkins's legs - danger averted.

Atkins has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Macconi is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Atkins.

Macconi feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Macconi must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Atkins escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Macconi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

This one could be over very soon! Macconi goes limp - he's gone! Atkins jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
