Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roman Owens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesse Hall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Owens comes to the cage accompanied by Disturbed- Inside the Fire. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Owens as Hall shoots in.
Owens misses with a double jab.
Owens tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Owens throws a right and a left that Hall avoids nicely.

Hall darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Owens throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Owens has a hand on Hall's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Hall takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Owens tries to hold on but Hall pushes him away.
Owens is working to get back to half guard.

Hall is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Owens has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Owens!
Hall is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Hall had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Owens is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Hall Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Owens's back instead.

Owens has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Hall is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Owens.
Owens is looking to get back to his feet here but Hall is keeping cool and he's managed to take Owens's back.
Hall tries to keep control of the position but Owens is staying busy.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Hall shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Hall misses with a takedown attempt - Owens sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

The fighters are battling for position here. Hall manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Hall has his feet on Owens's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Hall moves in looking to clinch but Owens pushes him off.

Hall closes the distance and clinches up with Owens, looking for a takedown. Hall pushes Owens against the cage but Owens circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Owens misses with a series of wild punches.
Owens throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Hall.

Hall feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Hall gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Owens throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Owens looks to land a combination but Hall avoids it well.
Hall lands a nice looking body kick.
Owens misses with a few strikes there.
Owens has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Owens there as he acknowledges the shot.

Hall tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Owens just stands there and leans against the cage.

Owens gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Hall stands up and waves to Owens to follow him.

and Hall counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Hall shoots in looking for a takedown. Owens tries to sprawl out of it but Hall keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Owens manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Owens lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Hall moves out of range as Owens throws a body kick.
Hall shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Owens as he jumps to the side.

and Hall counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Owens escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hall gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hall is working for a submission of some sort.

Hall stands up and beckons Owens to join him on the feet.

Hall looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Owens tries a head kick but it misses.
Owens swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Hall counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Owens's guard now.
Jesse Hall has got the better of the ground game so far.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
