Monyet throws a low kick, looking for Merquez's leg but Merquez calmly moves out of range.
Merquez thuds his right hand into Monyet's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Monyet throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Merquez is looking to clinch.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Merquez cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

That has opened up Anak Monyet's cut even more.
Monyet is in all sorts of trouble here.
Merquez lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

The cut above Anak Monyet's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Merquez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Anak Monyet's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
