The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ishikawa swats away the attempt to clinch by Bishop.
Shinya Ishikawa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bishop tries to clinch up.
Ishikawa rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bishop moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bishop wants to clinch up but Ishikawa keeps it at a distance.
Ishikawa is looking to clinch but Bishop is avoiding it.
Bishop fails with an attempt to clinch.
Bishop tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Ishikawa counters with a single leg into guard. Bishop didn't expect that.
Bishop wants to sweep but no luck.
Bishop pulls Ishikawa in to control the position.
Ishikawa wants to control from the top but Bishop keeps moving.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bishop throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Bishop looking for a guillotine here but Ishikawa defends easily.

Bishop is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Bishop slips a nice elbow through Ishikawa's hands, connecting with Ishikawa's forehead.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ishikawa wants to clinch up but Bishop keeps it at a distance.
Bishop misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Bishop scores with a jab to the jaw.
Bishop slips a jab and a cross from Ishikawa.
Ishikawa looks gassed!
A head kick lands from Bishop that sends Ishikawa to the canvas. Ishikawa tries to scramble back to his feet but Bishop brings him back down into side control.

Ishikawa is rocked!

It looks like Shinya Ishikawa has been cut.
Bishop scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Ishikawa is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Bishop can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
