Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Derek Safo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Felix Basilan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Safo might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Up Your Speed by Sway DaSafo. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

18 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Felix Basilan!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Basilan finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Basilan walks into a jab.
Basilan takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Safo swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Safo has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Basilan.
Safo connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Basilan dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Basilan lands a leg kick that knocks Safo off balance momentarily.
A nice leg kick lands there from Basilan.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Basilan misses with an attempted mid kick.

Derek Safo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Safo scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Basilan throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Basilan swings away with a leg kick that misses.

Safo cracks the inside of Basilan's front leg.
Basilan throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Basilan throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Safo.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Safo pivots, looking for a leg kick but Basilan is out of range and Safo settles back down.
Basilan lands a big head kick that sends Safo tumbling to the mat! Basilan takes a step backwards and waves Safo back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Derek Safo has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Basilan lands a nice looking kick to the body. Safo takes a step back to recover.
Safo checks a leg kick nicely.
Safo getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Safo clobbers Basilan with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Basilan lands with a nice body kick.
Safo throws a jab when Basilan was well out of range.
Basilan connects with a good right hand that stumbles Safo. Safo circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Safo is rocked!
Basilan sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Safo's defenses. It connects perfectly with Safo's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
