The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valentine looks for the body kick but Dawkins saw that one coming.
Dawkins darts in trying to clinch
and Valentine counters with a nice kick to the body.
Dawkins misses with a head kick.
Valentine defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Dawkins.
Dawkins tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Valentine counters by clinching up.
A bit of stalling here from Valentine.

Valentine stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dawkins swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Valentine won't allow Dawkins to get back to his feet.
Valentine must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
