PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bob Fracklin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Kashpureff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kashpureff is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Everyday I'm Hustilin. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bob Fracklin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Peter Kashpureff!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Donatello Bradman and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kashpureff tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Fracklin misses with a body kick.

Kashpureff gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Kashpureff throws a knee to the head but misses.
Kashpureff is stalling here.
Fracklin is trying to maintain a safe position but Kashpureff gets an underhook and turns Fracklin into the cage.
Fracklin is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Fracklin gets control of Kashpureff's arms and successfully pulls guard. Fracklin will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Fracklin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Fracklin is working an open guard so Kashpureff takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Kashpureff uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Fracklin.

Kashpureff stands up from Fracklin's guard - Kashpureff perhaps looking for a knockout.

Fracklin tries for a takedown but Kashpureff circles away easily
and Kashpureff counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Fracklin is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Fracklin misses with the combination.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Kashpureff.
Bob Fracklin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

It looks like Peter Kashpureff has been cut.
Kashpureff ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Fracklin moves away.
Kashpureff lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Fracklin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Fracklin wants it to stay on the feet.
Kashpureff changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fracklin tries to avoid it but Kashpureff manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fracklin to the ground. Fracklin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bob Fracklin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Kashpureff.

Fracklin wants to clinch.

Fracklin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Fracklin is looking to work some ground and pound but Kashpureff has wrist control.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Fracklin passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Kashpureff tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Fracklin is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Kashpureff to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Kashpureff shrugs it off.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Bob Fracklin will probably get the nod.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Kashpureff takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Kashpureff dives in and grabs Fracklin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Fracklin pushes down on Kashpureff's head and hops out.

Fracklin passes Kashpureff's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Kashpureff is breathing heavily.
Fracklin wants to pass the guard but Kashpureff is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kashpureff wants to improve his position but Fracklin is controlling well.
Fracklin is looking to stall here but Kashpureff recovers full guard.
Fracklin trying to stand up but can't free himself from Kashpureff's guard.
Fracklin trying to control but Kashpureff is working from the bottom.
Fracklin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Kashpureff clinches up against the cage.
Fracklin goes for a takedown attempt but Kashpureff pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Peter Kashpureff showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Kashpureff blocks a head kick by Fracklin.
Fracklin tries to clinch but Kashpureff moves away
and Kashpureff counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Kashpureff comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Bob Fracklin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kashpureff doesn't manage to clinch there - Fracklin circles away.
Kashpureff fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Fracklin shoots in for a takedown but Kashpureff shows good takedown defense.
Fracklin shoots in for a double leg but Kashpureff sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Fracklin avoids the head kick by Kashpureff.

Kashpureff darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Fracklin gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Kashpureff's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Kashpureff sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Fracklin taps out!

A very excited looking Peter Kashpureff made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
