The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Saez shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Reijkard is trying to defend but Saez finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Saez is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Saez seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Saez is taking a breather. Reijkard says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Saez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Saez is looking to advance position but Reijkard won't allow it.
Saez uses his free foot to push down on Reijkard's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Reijkard.

Saez is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Reijkard can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Reijkard really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Saez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
