Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between JD Wood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masakazu Imanari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). JD Wood has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, JD Wood!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Masakazu Imanari!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Imanari needs to keep his hands up - Wood had a free shot at his head there.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Wood lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Imanari has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Imanari and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to JD Wood.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Wood, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
