Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Doc Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ferdinando Ferrari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thomas's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Lunatic Fringe by Red Ryder. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 16 - 2, fighting out of New York, Doc Thomas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ferdinando Ferrari!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferrari throws a hook to the side of Thomas's head but Thomas sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Thomas works Ferrari's body with a nice hook.
Thomas misses with a looping right.
Ferrari tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Thomas manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Ferrari lands a lovely overhand right.
Thomas takes a swing at Ferrari's ribcage but misses.
Ferrari cracks Thomas with a right hand to the side of the head.
Ferrari takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Ferrari uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Thomas shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Ferrari stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Thomas swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Thomas holds on and takes a little breather.

Ferrari closes the distance and clinches up with Thomas, looking for a takedown. Ferrari pushes Thomas against the cage but Thomas circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

and Thomas makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Thomas scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Ferrari doesn't seem bothered though.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Ferrari creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Thomas escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

I would just about give that final round to Ferdinando Ferrari.
I think Thomas has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
