PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Xavier Melendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yo-Landi Vi$$er (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Melendez comes to the cage accompanied by El Coo Cooi . Vi$$er comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Enter The Ninja kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Hugh Johnson and John Mangel.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vi$$er lands a really nice looking cross but Melendez seems unphased.

Vi$$er tries to sprawl but Melendez drives through with a takedown into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Melendez wants to pass to mount but Vi$$er is defending the position.
Melendez missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Melendez is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Melendez tries to pass to full mount but Vi$$er defends it.

Vi$$er controls Melendez momentarily but Melendez frees himself.
Vi$$er manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Melendez on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Melendez tries to get out of the position.

I really don't envy Melendez right now.

Vi$$er working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Vi$$er doesn't have the hooks in and Melendez manages to turn into his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Vi$$er is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Vi$$er is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Melendez is aware though and is defending well.

Melendez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Vi$$er has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Melendez has managed to get both his arms back between Vi$$er's legs - danger averted.
Melendez postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Vi$$er has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Melendez should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Vi$$er has tightened it up now! Melendez should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
