The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
VonFoster doesn't succeed with the takedown
letting Stevens counter with a right hand.
VonFoster tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Stevens manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

VonFoster gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Stevens regains guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

VonFoster is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Stevens defends it well.

Stevens has a hand on VonFoster's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. VonFoster takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
