Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ethen Kanven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul VanSchool (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). VanSchool has chosen Better Than You by Metallica as his entrance music. Ethen Kanven looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kanven blocks a head kick by VanSchool.
Kanven looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Kanven gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows VanSchool to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
VanSchool passes Kanven's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
VanSchool is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
VanSchool looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Kanven on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
VanSchool is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Kanven!
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

VanSchool has hold of Kanven's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Kanven manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

VanSchool has control of Kanven's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Kanven regains control of the situation pretty easily.
VanSchool is landing with some decent strikes but Kanven is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Kanven is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Kanven takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

VanSchool landing strikes from the mount and Kanven is in trouble!

VanSchool lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Kanven is rocked!

VanSchool has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Kanven's face.
Oh Kanven is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

VanSchool unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Kanven wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! VanSchool celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
