PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Billy Kincaid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adamh Pearse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kincaid comes into the arena with Jesus Wept - Suffocation (Effigy of the Forgotton) blaring out of the sound system. Adamh Pearse told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Billy Kincaid!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Adamh Pearse!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Ben Zyskovitsi and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pearse tries to clinch there but Kincaid circles away.
Kincaid changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Pearse scores with a sloppy right hand. Kincaid should have avoided that one.
Pearse fails in his attempt to clinch.
Kincaid connects with a nice looking jab.
Kincaid throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Kincaid connects with a body shot that sends Pearse's belly button to the back.
Pearse on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kincaid throws a series of punches but Pearse moves out of range.
Pearse fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Kincaid is out of range.
Kincaid lands a jab to Pearse's midsection.
Adamh Pearse seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kincaid throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Pearse looks winded!
Kincaid scores with a jab to the body.
Kincaid throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Kincaid is looking to wear down Pearse with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Pearse darts in trying to clinch
and Kincaid counters with a left to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kincaid throws a front kick that sends Pearse stumbling back into the cage.
Kincaid listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Kincaid lands with a nice body kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kincaid thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Pearse if he has to take too many more of those.

Kincaid fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Pearse to the ground. Kincaid is now in Pearse's guard.
Pearse preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Kincaid trying to control the position from guard on top but Pearse is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kincaid looking to pass the guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kincaid missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Billy Kincaid wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Pearse misses with a low kick as Kincaid jumps back.
Pearse misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kincaid.
Kincaid swings for the body but Pearse moves out of range.
Pearse tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kincaid paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Pearse throws an off balance right hand
and Kincaid counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Pearse misses with a leg kick
and Kincaid counters with a straight right hand.
Pearse fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Kincaid has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Kincaid fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Pearse steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Kincaid. That one must have hurt.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kincaid misses with a body shot.
Pearse just misses with a punch to the body.
Kincaid checks the leg kick nicely there.
Pearse tries to clinch up but Kincaid circles away and keeps his distance.
Pearse throws an off balance right hand
enabling Kincaid to counter with a crisp jab.


It looks like Adamh Pearse has been cut.
Pearse drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Kincaid lands a jab to the nose.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kincaid feints with a jab and clips Pearse right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Pearse is sent crashing into the canvas and Kincaid leaps in for the kill! Pearse tries to get to his feet but Kincaid is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Pearse is in need of a savior and steps in!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Billy Kincaid!
After the fight, Billy Kincaid was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
