The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Everton rushes Russell and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Russell prevents the takedown attempt.

Russell breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Everton jumps guard and drags Russell to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Everton scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Everton feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Everton is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Everton shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Everton was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Russell defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Everton.

Everton has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Everton looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Everton cracks Russell with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
