Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Oliver Reed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Caldwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reed kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Jean Baptiste Lully - Marche Royale. Oliver Reed has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 20 - 0, fighting out of London, Jimmy Caldwell!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caldwell moves out of range of the body kick.
Reed looks to land a right hand but Caldwell moved out of range.
A slapping leg kick lands for Reed.
Reed misses the shot to the body.
Reed tries a head kick but it misses.
Caldwell closes the distance and clinches up with Reed, looking for a takedown. Caldwell pushes Reed against the cage but Reed circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
No luck for Caldwell with that takedown attempt.
Caldwell fails with an attempt to clinch.
Reed throws a leg kick

and Caldwell counters by clinching up.
Reed scores with a nice hook to the head.
Caldwell wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Reed tries to work over Caldwell's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Reed misses with a knee to the head.
Reed can't find room to land a body shot as Caldwell controls the action.

Reed wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Reed throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Caldwell tries to bum rush Reed with a series of wild strikes but Reed uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Reed's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Reed duly obliges.


It looks like Jimmy Caldwell has been cut.
Reed avoids a punch combination nicely.
Reed misses with an attempted mid kick.

Caldwell changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Reed tries to avoid it but Caldwell manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Reed to the ground. Reed escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Reed throws a push kick but Caldwell slaps the foot to one side.
Caldwell shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Reed pinned against the cage. Reed gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Reed stalks Caldwell and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Caldwell's face. Caldwell staggers backwards, shaken.
Caldwell tries to clinch there but Reed circles away.

Reed throws a series of punches but Caldwell moves out of range.

Reed keeps the fight on the outside.
Reed jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Reed misses with a hook to the body

and Caldwell counters by clinching up.

Reed pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Caldwell shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Reed as he avoids it easily.
Reed moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Caldwell is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Reed's half guard.
Reed is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Caldwell's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Caldwell's back!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Caldwell just trying to survive but Reed is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Oliver Reed seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Reed throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Jimmy Caldwell is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Reed gets tackled into the cage by Caldwell. Caldwell maintains the clinch.

Reed cracks Caldwell with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Caldwell looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Reed finish him?
Reed throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Reed throws a nice outside leg kick.
Reed scores with a jab.

Reed fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Caldwell manages to avoid it.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Reed lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Caldwell has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Caldwell and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
