PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Burbank Bulldog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Fisher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bulldog kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is British Bulldog. John Fisher acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Fisher!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fisher chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Fisher tries to close the distance and clinch but Bulldog swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Bulldog swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Fisher digs a good body shot into Bulldog's ribs.
Fisher tries a head kick but it misses.
Fisher lands with a nice body punch.
Bulldog misses with a looping right.
Fisher throws a right and a left that Bulldog avoids nicely.
A combination from Bulldog does no damage.
Bulldog thows a body shot but no joy.
Fisher displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bulldog drives through and clinches with Fisher against the cage.
Fisher throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Fisher tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Fisher tries to land knees in the clinch but Bulldog avoids the damage to the body.

Fisher breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bulldog misses with a straight left.

Fisher moves into the clinch.
Bulldog takes an elbow to the temple.
Bulldog lands a hook that snaps the head of Fisher backwards.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bulldog takes a knee right on the jaw!
Fisher pushes Bulldog back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Fisher scores a nice knee to the body.
Fisher lands an elbow that stopped Bulldog in his tracks for a moment.
Fisher presses Bulldog against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Bulldog is breathing heavily.
Bulldog's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Bulldog wants to break free but Fisher has control.
Bulldog has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Bulldog doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Fisher comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Nice elbow from Fisher.

Bulldog drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Fisher escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bulldog on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Fisher. Fisher obviously looking to wear him down.
Bulldog connects with a leg kick. Fisher looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Bulldog escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Fisher lands a nice shot that snaps Bulldog's head back.
Fisher is looking to clinch.
Bulldog misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bulldog takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Left hook, right uppercut from Bulldog.

Fisher breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bulldog on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Fisher is pushing Bulldog up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Bulldog blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Fisher breaks from the clinch.
John Fisher is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
No joy there for Fisher, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Fisher misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bulldog.
Fisher lands a leg kick that knocks Bulldog off balance momentarily.
Fisher lands a right hook to the body.
Bulldog stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Fisher.
Fisher lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bulldog misses with a straight left.
Bulldog takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Nice sprawl there from Fisher as Bulldog shoots in.

Fisher ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Fisher misses with a wild combination.
Fisher throws a head kick that half lands.
Fisher feints and then cracks Bulldog's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Bulldog down.

Fisher drops Bulldog with a beautiful combination! Bulldog stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Fisher is looking for the KO!


Bulldog is rocked!
Fisher scoring well with a low kick there.
Oh Bulldog is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Bulldog seems to have got his legs back now.

Fisher takes the fight into the clinch.
Fisher controlling the action here for a moment.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Fisher.
Fisher lands an elbow just above Bulldog 's eye.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Fisher dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Fisher thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Bulldog if he has to take too many more of those.

Fisher feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Bulldog's calf.

A jab from Fisher finds it's way through Bulldog's defenses.
Bulldog gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Fisher counters with a nice low kick that buckles Bulldog's knee momentarily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Fisher has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Fisher feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Bulldogs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Both fighters circling a little - Fisher finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

John Fisher seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fisher wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Bulldog drops down looking for an ankle pick but Fisher pulls his leg out and moves away.
Fisher connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Oooooh!!! Fisher has knocked Bulldog down with a huge combo! Fisher steps away and waves a wobbly Bulldog back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Fisher lands a nice hook to Bulldog's body. Bulldog takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Whack! Fisher lands a heavy head kick that drops Bulldog. The ref tackles Fisher to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Bulldog was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). John Fisher!
After winning the bout, John Fisher thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
